What makes a great wine cellar?
There’s an element of subjectivity, however quality producers (and terroirs from which the wines originate) and diversity are particularly important features with different bottles suited to different occasions (seasons, food pairings, events etc.)
For Jim, a particular passion is wines that have a sense of place and tell a story. These have become a focal point of his personal cellar. Another philosophy that informs his wine buying is experimentation. It is the received wisdom that one way to live a long and healthy life is to learn something new each day. Otherwise, we can get into a rut. It’s similar with wine. While it’s terrific to have favourites and regular “go to” varieties, regions and producers, Jim believes that it is also important to keep challenging ourselves with the wines that we buy and drink. Learning something new as we do.
Wine is living art. In addition to the pleasure of taste and its intellectual appeal, its most significant attribute is its ability to bring people together. Contact Us today to discuss your own cellar.
